INTRODUCTION

The objective of IT Workshop is to impart basic computer usage and maintenance skills and to introduce you to a suite of productivity tools that will aid in your day to day activities.

IT workshop works in a learning-by-doing mode. It concentrates more on hands-on experience for the participants rather theoretical classes. It enables the participant to make the best use of Microsoft Office Suite in their day-to-day requirements and make use of it to improve the standards in the educational environment. The IT Workshop prepares the participant to have a hands-on experience in maintaining and troubleshooting a PC by themselves.

Computer Hardware, Windows & Linux

Hardware comprises all of the physical parts of a computer, as distinguished from the data it contains or operates on. Software provides instructions for the hardware to accomplish tasks.

Windows is a range of closed source proprietary commercial operating environments for personal computers and also servers. This range was first introduced by Microsoft in 1985 and eventually has come to dominate the world of personal computer market. All recent versions of Windows are full-fledged operating systems.
Linux is a computer operating system. It is among the most famous examples of free software and of open-source development. Initially, Linux was largely developed and used by individual enthusiasts.

Productivity Tools

Microsoft Office is a suite of productivity programs created by Microsoft and developed for Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh operating systems. In addition to the office applications, it includes associated servers and Web-based services.
Office is considered to be the de facto standard for productivity programs, and has many features not present in other suites. However, the reverse is also true, with other programs having capabilities that Office doesn't.Microsoft Office suite includes Word, Power Point, Excel, Publisher, Outlook in most of its versions.

Internet and World Wide Web

Internet & World Wide Web module introduces the different ways of hooking on to the internet from home and workplace and effectively usage of the internet. Usage of web browsers, email, newsgroups and discussion forums would be covered.

JNTU is one of the oldest University in Hyderabad situated at the heart of the city. Initially this university established as Nagarjuna Sagar Engineering College in the year 1956 by the government of Andhra Pradesh. After seeing the increasing growth of Industrial and technological development in India, new technological education required for the industrial growth of the country in general and more particularly for the State of Andhra Pradesh, "Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University" was established on 2nd October, 1972, by an act of State Legislature.

University main branch is located at Kukatpally, Hyderabad. When the college was under the purview of the Department of Technical Education, it was affiliated to the Osmania University, Hyderabad. This university is established with the noble task to strengthen and improvement the technical education in India. University has a much enhanced infrastructure which determines the progress and prosperity of a nation. It is the first technological industry in India. On its formation, the Government Engineering Colleges at Anantapur, Kakinada and Hyderabad, along with the Government College of Fine Arts and Architecture at Hyderabad, became its Constituent Colleges. It is one of the oldest Engineering College in South India.

There are almost all Engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh and mostly in Hyderabad are affiliated with JNTU. Before its establishment, other privately owned Engineering and other Fine arts colleges affiliated to their regional Universities such as Osmania University in Hyderabad, Andhra University in Vishakapatnam.

Eligibility

Undergraduate Courses: To be eligible for the Undergraduate Courses, a student must have passed the 10+2 level of examination or equivalent successfully with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as an optional.

Postgraduate Courses: To be eligible for the Postgraduate Courses, a student must have passed the Bachelor's Degree of examination successfully.

Admission

Undergraduate Courses: Each year, JNTU conducts entrance examinations, known as EAMCET for the students who wish to join any of the engineering courses in JNTU or other JNTU affiliated Colleges. However, the minimum qualification to take this test is 10+2 level or equivalent examination. Apart from this, JNTU also conducts ECET tests. Students who want to take admissions to Direct Second Year of the Four year Engineering courses (B.Tech./B.E.) in JNTU affiliated Colleges.

Postgraduate Courses: For admission to the Postgraduate Courses of the JNTU, the student should have successfully completed their Bachelor's Degree in the engineering field. The admissions to the Postgraduate Courses are on the basis of GATE examination. For non-sponsored students, admission is based through an entrance test conducted by the University. For admission to the MCA course, the student needs to take the MCACET, on which the admission is based.
