On eBay, people and businessmen buy and sell a huge variety of goods and services worldwide. eBay has established its website in many countries. Auction is nothing but the selling of goods, property or service to the highest bidder. eBay provides you a platform for doing this job. And this article is about to describe the various formats for Auction on eBay.

Different Auction Formats on eBay

Most of the time, eBay users are stick to only two standard formats for sales on eBay, either they use “Regular” auction which involves bidding and waiting; and the other format is “Buy It Now” which is an instant buy.

And one more format is Dutch Auctions. It allows the seller to offer two or more identical items in the same auction. Bidders can bid for any number from one item up to the total number offered.

But I like to share with you all some other methods that are less well known.

1. Restricted Access Auctions

In this type of Auctions contains only “adult” items for sale. You must be above 18 years to access this Auctions. It is restricted for children which prevent them from seeing this kind of products.

To bid on these items, the buyer must be fulfilling the following criteria.

$ The buyer must agree that he is accessing restricted access auctions.

On eBay, the restricted auctions are excluded from the main pages. So, if you are a seller using this format then your listing will be harder to find.

2. Live Auctions

It is a very general and common type of Auctions. It is a traditional auction included the people sitting on the chairs and an coordinator who is controlling the auction is sit in front. Any buyer can participate in these live auctions. So, it is possible through eBay to participate these types of live Auctions. It is like virtual presence in the auction. In this type of auctions, products are very expensive and unique and uncommon.

$ To get the best price for his product, some sellers use private auctions to make it harder for their competition to snoop on them.

$ The buyers might be share the nature of the merchandise with others.
